October 14, 2025We’re delighted to announce our first official international partnership with Safe Transport and Survivor Support Uganda. (STASSU), a national NGO dedicated to improving road and water transport safety and supporting crash survivors across Uganda.
This landmark collaboration brings together two organisations united by a shared mission: to reduce road deaths and serious injuries by raising awareness of tyre safety and improving driver behaviour. It marks a significant step forward in TyreSafe’s ambition to share our messages.
Stuart Lovatt, Chair of TyreSafe, said, “We are delighted to welcome STASSU as TyreSafe’s first international partner. Sam and his team are doing remarkable work to improve transport safety in Uganda, and we are honoured to support their efforts. This partnership is an exciting opportunity to share knowledge, resources and ideas to improve tyre safety in both of our nations—and ultimately to help save lives.”
Sam Bambanza, Executive Director of STASSU, added, “Tyre safety is an often-overlooked but vital aspect of road safety in Uganda. We admire the work TyreSafe has done in the UK and are thrilled to be joining forces. With access to TyreSafe’s materials and expertise, and utilising their research and education resources, we aim to significantly improve public awareness to reduce the number of tyre-related incidents. Together, we can build a culture of tyre safety that protects families and communities across Uganda.”
